>Capturing Moments interviewed for Photographer’s Corner

Wednesday, Sep. 1st 2010

>David and Drexelle Park with D. Park Photography did a video interview of me for their photographer’s corner blog last month. He took some awesome pics of me and they asked me questions regarding advice for new and upcoming wedding photographers. I shared 1st year struggles, do’s and dont’s, and what it takes to make it as a Orange County Wedding Photographer. D. Park Photography’s blog is fresh and innovative. They do an awesome original engagement shoot, which features the bride and groom as “stars” of their own upcoming movie. They are super cool, check out their blog after you see my interview and pics. Thanks David and Drexelle!

American Idol Finalist, David Hernandez, performs at Laguna Beach Wedding!

Friday, Aug. 13th 2010

>Congrats Lisa and Erik Bartik and their recent wedding! On My Birthday, 6-5-2010, I shot their on-sand wedding in Laguna Beach, Ca. Their wedding was simple and intimate. The reception was held at Hush, in Laguna Beach, Ca. This restaurant a really hip modern restaurant in downtown Laguna. David Hernandez, a former American Idol finalist, performed at the reception, and he sang beautifully! I really enjoyed shooting this bride, she was very photogenic. This is a great wedding to look at as well if you are on a budget. As you can see the wedding ceremony and romantics shots are beautiful, and the reception was classy yet simplistic. The groom planned this wedding in a matter of weeks!

This last romantic was shot near dark. I could barely shoot without my flash anymore, I had about 10 minutes to shoot all of the romantics, then darkness.

David Hernandez, American Idol finalist, performed many songs at the reception. He sounded awesome!

Another Real Wedding in Orange County Bride Magazine

Saturday, Jul. 31st 2010

>Thank you Orange County Bride Magazine for publishing another Real Wedding in Summer 2010 issue. They chose a destination wedding I shot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico earlier this year. Sarah & Ray are from Vancouver, Canada, so they chose a warm romantic Cabo getaway in January, 80 guests were in attendance. The ceremony overlooked the ocean and the colors they chose where bright and fun! This is definitely a fun colorful wedding, and I blogged about it in the past if you would like to check it out!

>Surf & Sand Wedding – Lisa & Kevin

Thursday, Jul. 29th 2010

>Congrats Lisa & Kevin on your recent wedding on June 12th, 2010! I also shot their engagement shoot in downtown Laguna Beach earlier this year. The celebration was very classy and unique all at the same time. Lisa & Kevin had a black tie affair, very simple, yet classy and fun! Lisa chose to have a live band and cut all of the “extras,”  like the money dance, bouquet/garter, and even cake cutting. Just toasts, first dance, dinner, dessert and then dancing and fun. Lisa’s dress was also beautiful and different then a lot of the rest of the dresses I see.

Surf & Sand is a very popular beach side venue in Laguna Beach, California. Sandy is a great coordinator who has been there forever, and she is very committed to her brides. The venue is very classy yet relaxed, with a breezy Spanish Style Beachy atmosphere. Greenery surrounds the main patio that overlooks the ocean, lined with sofas, cushioned lounge chairs, and fire pits all around, for a relaxing time. The ceremony sat high above and overlooking the ocean! The designer, Larrissa with Inviting Occasion, is very creative and innovative, her design work is very unique and impressive. The ceremony site and reception tables where AWESOME!!!! The previous blog is about the venue and the awesome design with lots of great pics so check that out. Great venue, Great design choices, Great Wedding!

>Inviting Occasion Designs Wedding at Surf & Sand

Wednesday, Jul. 28th 2010

>Congrats Lisa & Kevin on their recent wedding on June 12th, 2010. Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, California is a very popular beach side wedding venue. With a modern Spanish style feel and parked right against the sand, this venue offers a breezy relaxed high end venue. Ceremony sites overlook the beautiful ocean, and the grounds are lined with greenery and a rustic Spanish style atmosphere for great wedding pictures throughout. The ballroom, big and small, are perfect for any wedding and the hotel rooms are modern, airy, and the suites overlooking the ocean are breathtaking. I was also very impressed when I arrived at the wedding to see the design work of Larrissa with Inviting Occasion. From the ceremony to the table tops, Larissa’s originality and creativity floored me. I see a lot of weddings, and these days it is getting harder and harder to impress me. It seems I see the same 5 weddings done over and over again. Not this wedding, and not with Larrissa doing the design. If the bride would have told me she was doing babies breathe as the centerpieces I would have been mortified, but when I saw what she did my jaw dropped……it was amazing! I have never seen design work like hers before, very inventive. Wanted to share this venue and wedding designer with you since I was so impressed. I will blog about the wedding soon.

The designer used glass stands, and hung the tier dropped glass globes with orchids inside. The flowers were gorgeous, and so was the ceremony site!

These were also really cute! There were little black ball things in there, very cool!

Great beach wedding photos without even setting a heel on the sand!

Surf and Sand also has great little fountains, greenery, and nice common areas to relax and watch the waves!

Head table with long tables for bridal party instead of rounds. Love the babies breathe puffs!

The centerpieces were mixed with tall and lower table tops. I thought it was very creative that she wrapped these around the vase instead of putting them inside, at night they were beautifully lit.

Bride and groom at head table watching the parent speeches!

>Downtown Fullerton Wedding Venue & Lavenders Flowers

Tuesday, Jul. 27th 2010

>If you are looking for a great venue that does not break the budget, then check out Villa Del Sol located on Harbor Blvd. in Downtown Fullerton. The architecture has an awesome Spanish feel, with a courtyard in the center for a private and quaint ceremony and reception. The Villa does not feel like you are in Orange County when you are there, it feels like you have been swept away to another country. It is a unique wedding spot that is not too flashy so the wedding still feels about the couple and not the venue. If you are considering Rancho Las Lomas or antoher Spanish/mission style venue, but not sure if it is in your budget, then check out this venue before you book. The romantics and bridal party pics in downtown Fullerton are fun, urban, and romantic all at the same time. This venue creates a warm atmosphere and I love shooting here!  Conveniently, Lavender’s Flowers, Cafe Hidalgo, and Lolo Boutique are all a part of the Via Del Sol building. You can literally book the venue, walk over to Lavenders Flowers and book with Kelley, Cafe Hidalgo has great food for your catering, and Lolo’s Boutiques is such a cute place for getting ready’s. She provides champagne, snacks, and a great atmosphere for getting ready’s. Then call me and within one day you have planned almost your entire wedding! Check out my previous blog for pics of the entire wedding, in this I am just showing the venue and vendors mainly.

Great venue for getting ready’s and getting bride dressed, different feel then a hotel room. Loved it!

Great lighting and color for awesome cozy feeling, feels like you are at home. Lolo a Boutique offers champagne and snacks for the bridesmaids.

Kelley with Lavenders Flowers does such a great job with most budgets!

Kelley is inventive and creative, her work is always beautiful! I have done dozens of weddings with Lavender’s and she comes highly recommended by me!

Wedding Ceremony inside the court yard of Villa Del Sol

This two story venue allows for great ceremony shots!

Bride overlooking her wedding reception from the 2nd story of Villa Del Sol. Love the California behind her, really showcases the venue and a beautiful California wedding!

Cocktail Hour takes place on the 2nd story of Villa Del Sol, separating guests from the couple and allowing time to transform the ceremony space into reception.

Reception in Courtyard of Villa Del Sol

Cafe Hidalgo restaurant is located in the Villa Del Sol building, conveniently providing yummy catering for your wedding! There food is REALLY good!

Villa Del Sol is beautiful at night with hanging twinkle lights for a relaxed reception.

Kelly can dress up your wedding cake to match whatever theme you have!
