>Our Family Vacation 2010
>Every year I LOVE going on family vacation with our boys. Get out of the hustle and bustle, drop your facebook & cell phones, and forget about life at home. Our boys LOVE to travel as well. Since we went to Costa Rica earlier this year, it was a real treat to hit the road again for more then 2 weeks. We started by traveling up the Coast of California, first stop just outside of Santa Rosa. We drive at night mostly so the kids sleep. 🙂 We stayed at my brother-in-laws which is 160 acres of trees, and nothing to do but enjoy nature, the lake where the boys got to paddle with their cousin, and veg out. I even sat and braided my hair I had so much time. It was awesome. Next stop was only a few hour drive to Trinidad, in Humboldt county, my other brother in laws. We stopped off at an awesome secluded watering hole with swinging ropes, it was beautiful!!! Trinidad is also kind of remote beach living, it is on the coast so it is cool and beautiful with tons and tons of trees. Loved sitting in the Spa when it was cold (even though it was August) in the middle of the forest, huge fan! I did a family photoshoot in Humboldt which I will blog about next. A few days later we headed out for another remote town, an hour outside of Seattle Washington, about a 10 hour drive. They have Walmart about 15 minutes away and that is it. It is beautiful there, still cold and rainy even for summer. The boys got to fish and hang out with their cousins on the lake. Great time. We stayed there about 5 days and then headed to my sisters house in Boise Idaho, another 10 hour drive. Boise is beautiful as well, with it’s huge blue cloud filled skies. We drove through 4 states and made lots of memories. I do not usually blog too much about personal life, but love sharing pics of the boys and excursions when I can. I am not completely a plumber with leaky faucets. 🙂
The fun starts here! Parker, 6, always jumping.
The kids managing a canoe for the first time on their own. (Front) Landon, 7, Parker, 6, and Lilah, 6. (cousin)
Daddy takes the boys on quad rides, they Love country life!
On a hike to the secluded water hole!
This place was amazingly gorgeous, the pics do it no justice. We had this cove all to ourselves!
The boys were dirty almost the entire vacation! They loved it!
Landon was the only one to brave the freezing water to get to the swing rope. I was so proud of him as he coached his cousin and gave her support. She never jumped! You can see her below crying in the background, that lasted about 15 minutes.
And what would a special moment be if only one child was crying, oh ya symphony of tears. The water was too cold. It was beautiful for a time. 🙂
Next stop Humboldt were the boys got to bike! They bombed down this hill over and over and over then Parker nailed it at the skate park. BMX maybe?
Argggg…….the boys got their face painted at the street fair in Olympia Washington!
Love these shots of Daddy and his boys fishing. They watched everything he did and tried their best to copy him. Also love that my boys get the city knocked out of them on vacation.
Good job Parker, your first catch!
My Family in Washington, last minute pic before we drive away!
Me and my Auntie, the only picture of me the entire vacation. Darn it, not one of my family, typical!
My hubby is such a good Daddy, the boys adore him!
Waterfall in Oregon, on our way to Boise, Idaho.
My favorite shot I get in some way on every vacation! Thanks for checking out my family vacation. You are probably bored now…….until next time!
>Wedding Venues, The Hacienda
>Congrats Kendra & Richard on their recent wedding at the Hacienda in Santa Ana, Ca. This is a great little Spanish style wedding venue. There are plenty of decorations, so you do not have to do a lot of decor planning a wedding here. Love all of the photo opportunities at this venue, very easy to do all of the romantics and bridal party pics there. It is quaint, warm, and has an intimate feeling. I also included a You Tube video that the videographer sent to me of me at work. Lyssa, with Silver Circle Productions is a great affordable wedding videographer. She does great intimate wedding videos and love her voice over work. Check out the video of me at work and enjoy all the wedding photos from the Hacienda!

>Secluded Park Wedding in Fullerton
>Congrats Christie and Danny on your recent wedding vows at a secluded park in Fullerton, California! I really love these small intimate weddings. They are low pressure, smooth and calm, and more about the love the couple shares and the reason for getting married. With the economy nowadays, not everyone has $10-50,000 to throw a wedding. Many couples are coming up with alternatives. This bride spent about a $1,000 on her wedding. Mainly spent on me photographing for an hour on a weekday, a pretty bouquet by Lavender’s Flowers, an inexpensive wedding dress, and food at her home for the 15 guests in attendance. At this point, it is about the love and nuptials between the two and not about the “fancy” golf course, hotel, or wedding venue. In my opinion, a great photographer can create magic images for any wedding. By looking at this wedding, you can see how beautiful the setting was and how amazing the pics still turn out not having to be at the best known venue. If you are wanting to get married and have no idea how you are going to afford it, consider alternatives. I blogged a few months ago about a backyard wedding in Fullerton and included that link below. That was another wedding done in the couples backyard, they went all out, but it was all about them and felt very intimate. They had a wedding coordinator, Natalie with A Good Affair, and most of the time coordinators sound expensive, but they end up saving you money in the long run. Especially if they do design and florals themselves and can do that as well. Most coordinators also have it worked out so their vendors give discounts upon their referral, it adds up when you are hiring 3-4 vendors and they are giving a few hundred dollars off, it basically can pay for the coordinator. For more tips on how to throw a fabulous wedding with not a lot of dough, you can inquire with me about different locations, ideas, and money saving tips. I also included a link to a wedding shot on the beach which was really inexpensive as well. A lot of beaches have the option of getting a permit at $150 for the ceremony and then a lot of couples choose a nearby restaurant. That is another option if you are a beach fan.

Can more brides choose the bird cage veil? I love it!!!! Have only had a handful of brides choose this veil, very classy. Common’ do something a little different!
Love these two shots, looking over Mom and Dad’s shoulder, watching their daughter during her wedding ceremony….priceless!
Shot this with a Fish eye lens, and a really tall ladder for a birds eye view!
Family pictures are very important, especially to the parents and grandparents that have dreamed about the day for decades. I love doing candid and meaningful family pics mixed in with the traditional group shots of course.

>Ninefinger, Lead Singer Cuts Finger Off Onstage! Banned from You Tube…
>Ninefinger is a Los Angeles based band that has a lot of charisma and character! I first met them and shot them onstage while performing in LA. Ninfinger “cut” the lead singers finger off onstage, real or fake? Either way, this publicity stunt put Ninefinger on the map. On You Tube the band got 10’s of thousands of hits and even got banned from You Tube for the finger cutting being too realistic. This band was so fun to hang out with. I will blog their Orange County photo shoot next. Watch for this band!
In Order to name their band, Ninefinger cut the lead singers finger off during their recent LA show. The video link below shows the finger cutting. Real or Fake?
