Mission San Juan Capistrano

Oct. 3rd 2012

I have been on a bit of a blogging hiatus due to technical difficulties and traveling this summer for some amazing destination weddings. I thought this 2 part wedding would be the perfect wedding to blog about to get back into the swing of things. As you can tell my images are small, so still trying to work out the kinks of my custom blog, my apologies. However, I hope you can see the genius in this wedding by A Good Affair Wedding and Event Production. Natalie’s weddings are always over the top and done with amazing taste and style, especially when you get amazing wedding venues like these. The Mission San Juan Capistrano is a dream wedding venue for any Southern California Wedding Photographer. The Spanish landscape is breathtaking and romantic boasting endless places to capture dream wedding images. The Mission is also the oldest building in all of California, so it is a very special place dripping with history and wonder. The Batista is a small Catholic Chapel on the premises and Victoria & Greg chose to have their military wedding there. Since this wedding is so awesome, I have way too many images to share in just one blog. I will blog first about the mission and their romantic images, and in the second blog I will showcase the Classy Wedding Reception at the Newport Hyatt Regency. I will link the part 2 blog here when it is published. Thank you Natalie and all the other vendors featured below for another GREAT wedding!

>Disneyland Wedding!!!

May. 29th 2011

>

If you are a Disney fan then you are going to LOVE this wedding! If you are not a Disney fan…..I have to say neither am I, but Disney weddings are pretty fantastic! From the service to the food, to the gorgeous ballrooms, to the horse drawn Cinderella Carriage complete with a royal court and glass slipper holding your rings which are brought to the bride and groom mid-ceremony, it really is a treat. Mickey and Minney will even come to your wedding reception. Sound cheesy? Well it is not, it is actually classy and really well done. If you have ever wanted to feel like a princess, this is your place. As we traveled to one side of the hotel to the other, through the grounds all the little girls and even adults faces lit up to see the bride and her “court.” It was very cutesy and this couple has been together forever and has been waiting to be married for quite along time. This daytime easy going fairytale wedding truly was a delight! The reception was tipped off by Andy Nation of Just Imagine DJ. Ask him about his “Venice Dance!”

>Yoga Shoot…..get Zen with Jen!

Apr. 12th 2011

>

You are typically used to seeing me blog pictures about weddings, engagements, and family work, but the great part about being a photographer is there are a lot of reasons that people hire me, so I get to shoot a lot of different and interesting things. This client happened to be a former bride of mine. Love her, Jen is so relaxed and funny to be around. She was such an easy going bride, and she wanted a shoot now a few years later showcasing her yoga moves as she has many reasons she need them. She also wanted headshots as well for upcoming business opportunities, so she changed up her tops for different looks. Business always requires some sort of images for design purposes on business cards, promotional materials, website, social media, etc. If you need a new headshot, want to update your website, or even just update your profile pic on Facebook, then book a shoot on one of my shoot days and get it done! This shoot was actually done as a “mini” shoot and we were still able to get a lot. Get ready for Zen with Jen! 🙂

>Underwater Photoshoot in Costa Rica

Apr. 7th 2011

>

So I tried my first underwater shoot and I must say it was way trickier then being on solid ground. I thought I would just jump in and snap some amazing images! The subjects move and can’t stay still underwater, me the photographer moves, upside down and all around. Water up the nose, spinning, swimming, need a breathe…..trying to click as the subjects pass by…..”oh, I got a picture of a toe.” It was challenging to say the least. Next time I need to splurge on an underwater housing system for my Pro camera. I used a small 12.1 Pentax HD underwater camera, and it was hard. However, I do like a few of the pics considering the camera used. It was a fun experience and we laughed a lot. Have not had that much water up  my nose since I was a kid. The couple had a lot of fun and they took a lot of funny and naughty pics that I cannot share here. They have some great memories from this day and the beachfront resort was amazing! Check out my other Costa Rica blogs from previous trips below!

The groom being a surfer preferred being shot underwater!

He loved every minute of it and he could hold his breathe forever!
 The kids loved it too!

>Biltmore & LA Country Club Wedding by A Good Affair!

Mar. 25th 2011

>

Another great wedding coordinated by Natalie Good, owner of A Good Affair Event Production. Natalie and I have worked together for years and I always love her weddings. They are not cookie cutter and each has it’s own uniqueness and classy flair. I personally love her taste. Tom and Liz Pinkava recently wed and we did the Getting Ready shots at The Biltmore in downtown LA, which was an awesome place for bridal portraits! Then we were off for a Catholic Mass wedding ceremony and a great reception at La Canada Flintridge Country Club. The wedding from beginning to end was classy. The reception had a great Mariachi during dinner and Andy Nation for Emcee and DJ. If you ever need a DJ, Andy Nation is GREAT! Ask him about his Venice Dance! Loved the bouquet and the purple heels! Natalie also did the florals on this event, and does a unique awesome job every time! I don’t do that many Los Angeles Weddings, so it is always a different vibe being in Downtown LA vs. OC.

50% off Photoshoot Days for Spring, March 19th, Schedule now

Feb. 18th 2011

>

Photoshoot Days are times to take advantage of a Photoshoot at almost half price. In Orange County the going rate for a photo shoot with a great photographer starts at $500+. On shoot days one location is chosen and mini shoots are scheduled every 30 minutes. Shoots this day are only $250, plus a $25 deposit is required to hold your time slot. Shoots include 30 minutes of coverage with me, full editing on all images, and all images on CD with full copyrights. Shoot days are done a few times a year, once in Spring, once in Summer, and again starting in Sept/Oct in preparation for Family Christmas Shoots. In Orange County, picture greeting cards have been popular for years, so I have a lot of families who wait for these days to get a shoot at a very affordable rate. Photoshoot Days can be used for any kind of shoot, not just family shoots. Photoshoot Days can be used for engagement, new baby, pregnancy, senior “grad” pics, pregnancy, bands, headshots, etc. The Date for my Spring Photoshoot Day is Saturday, March 19th. I will be shooting the Spring pics at a rustic whimsical park in Fullerton. If you did not get Christmas cards out this year, like me, then opt for Spring cards. Even bring a bunny with you. 🙂  Sign up now as they do fill up and the next Shoot Days are not until the end of June. You can email for a time slot at capturingmoments@hotmail.com or send me a Facebook message on my Capturing Moments (Jaimee Hubert) page. Below are a few blogged examples of previous Shoot Days and Family Shoots.

>Fans of Heidi and Frank Show, Christmas Party at Rhythm Lounge

Dec. 15th 2010

>The reason Heidi and Frank had such a successful radio show, and are now making it big with their LIVE Internet Show and podcasts, is due to the love of their fans! The show is supported and promoted heavily by the very loyal listeners and fans. A lot of their listeners have followed their show for years, some more than a decade. They are like a hair stylist, no matter what salon they move to, we will follow. They have made their show so intimate and honest, that the fans can’t help but feel that Heidi, Frank, and now Smeez are part of their inner circle of friends. Some listen to their show faithfully and feel closer to Heidi and Frank then their own friends. They share intimate and embarrassing details of their personal lives, share crazy news stories, and share different and similar viewpoints of the world and the lives we live. Simply put they are entertaining and absolutely hilarious. Frank and Heidi are amazing at making each fan feel special, especially at their live shows are parties. They take pictures, dance with their fans, party, and really make everyone feel included. They are awesome with the crowd and treat their fans as their freinds. I can’t say enough about this show and these guys, although Frosty is missed, they have been able to make a smooth transition from radio into the internet and podcast world, and seemingly the show got funnier and better. I am doing this blog to showcase some of the fans. I am sorry I could not shoot everyone in attendance, but if you were in front of my camera and worked it, I tried to include you on this blog. If you see yourself please leave a comment!

DISCLAIMER: Some images may be graphic or offensive to some readers. (obviously not Heidi and Frank listeners) Please be advised that I covered this event, and in no way do I condone the actions or images of anyone or any details photographed. If you are easily offended or under age, this blog may not be for you and is in no way a reflection of Capturing Moments or Jaimee Hubert. My job is to document!

Produce My Event Photo Booth was there, and they were awesome!
 Listeners rocking the red carpet

Dig Tussy got a lot of lovin’ in the VIP Room!
 Frank loves his listeners!

Heidi has become semi-famous for that extra long tongue, they all want pics with her tongue out! Impressive!

Lots of requests for booby signing, not a modest crowd!

Scotch Lobster was there, and got lucky that night so we heard!

 Listener Kevin from Alaska showed!

This fan was front and center all night, trying for the plus size reality show as talked about on the show.

The Gingerbread man was there, or little Eric dressed as, greeted all the guests in the extra long line.

Mens bathroom was much cleaner then the Mens, go figure. They had the door open all night, they didn’t even care.

Even the VIP room let loose!

I have many pictures of Frank looking at boobs, hilarious!
Frank danced all night, and went from fan to fan working the dance floor!

Intern Ian was super popular with the ladies, Win a date with Ian put him on the map!

Sorry guys, you missed it, there was a girl fight ourside. Blood all over the staircase, this is the security guard pulling one girl away.
