>Buena Park Honors Fallen Warriors & Memorial Dedication
>Yesterday I shot a very emotional ceremony honoring the fallen soldiers who have given their lives for our country, along with their families. Buena Park honored these soldiers by adding a memorial for every soldier who has died in combat. Parents and families as well as veterans in BP turned out. I will blog about this a couple of times because so many things took place, and there were some very important and honorable people in my presence. I don’t blog much of the political stuff that I shoot, but I am very often shooting for the city and I have shot many politicians. This event really stands out to me as I was moved to tears a few times and really felt proud of our country and our soldiers. To see the comradery, respect, pain, and pride that all of these men, woman, and families have is very powerful.
All Veterans in BP were acknowledged, even by the family members if they are no longer with us.
Steve Hunt, Director of Recreation, Parks and Community Serves and MC
Unveiling of the Memorial including all of Buena Park residents who have died in combat.
Families received recognition for their fallen family members and received awards for their honor.
Family members of P4 Burrola were in attendance to do the unveiling.
The emotion in the crowd brought the reality of loss in war, moving and touching.
Every fallen soldier had their own plaque and were recognized individually.
Lou Correa, State Senator; Walter D. Elhers, WWII war hero, and Jim Dow; Councilman and former Mayor of BP (also my Dad….will blog about that next too)
